The Horse

           Do you give the horse its strength or clothe                       its neck with a flowing mane?

           Do you make it leap like a locust, striking            terror with its proud snorting?

   It paws fiercely, rejoicing in its strength,
  and charges into the fray.

It laughs at the fear, afraid of nothing;
it does not shy away from the sword.

The quiver rattles against its side, along
with the flashing spear and lance.

In frenzied excitement it eats up the ground;
it cannot stand still when the trumpet sounds.

At the blast of the trumpet it snorts, 'Aha!'
It catches the scent of battle from afar,
the shout of commanders and the battle cry.

Silver Dollar City

   We went to Silver Dollar City for "Young Christians Weekend" and we had a blast! We always have a blast together no matter where we are or what we're doing, that's one of the blessings of having a big family, there is definitely never a dull moment. We do practically everything as a family so we're always together no one is ever left out, and its always super fun being with my siblings. Yeah we all have our friends but no matter how close we are to them we will never really have that special bond that sisters and brothers possess.  It was our first time back to "Silver Dollar City" in along time, we hadn't gone for like eight years so we got to ride some new rides! A lot of us road their new ride called "Out Law Run" which is a sixty-two mph ride with a one hundred and sixty foot drop at the beginning! Eight of us went on it and only five of us liked it, I'm proud to say I was one of the five.

    On the night of the first concert it was raining and FREEZING cold so we had to huddle together like penguins to stay warm. We got there early so we could get a good seat but the concert was delayed because of the rain so we ended up standing outside in the freezing cold for like 4 hours with hundreds of strangers who kept copying TV commercials and singing "Let It Go".  It was a very long night but the show was so worth the wait!

                                              As you can tell from the picture we were not
                                                             prepared for the rain.

The second day the line was super long, probably because of the nice weather that day and because Kutless was going to play. Once again the show was worth the wait. Concert lines are a great way to teach you patience that's for sure. It didn't stay warm long however by the time night came it was cold again, but we stood and danced half the time so we kept ourselves warm.

We learned a lot and saw a lot of interesting things, we tried a lot of fried foods including fried vegetables. So some fried stuff can be healthy! We are not the healthiest eaters but we try. The atmosphere seemed really comfortable like everyone was on the same page, I guess because it was "Young Christians Weekend" so everyone was there for the same purpose to celebrate and worship. However, we did notice the different types of Christians especially when it came to the teens. You could tell which ones were really there to serve and which ones were just there for a good time. We could tell some of the people were definitely not on the conservative side so it was interesting to see the different types of Christianity at the event. As conservatives Christian teens we need to remember to guard our hearts from things that are not edifying for us.

                                      I think we may have ridden this ride probably 5 times.

RODEO

    Back in July we went to a Rodeo on 4th of July weekend and we had a blast! It wasn't hot we actually got there right after it rained so it was cool out and very comfortable. My brother Isaiah was super excited for the bull riding, bull riding is something he really wants to do and there is no talking him out of it. Two bull riders were hurt, one was pretty bad he had to be taken out on a stretcher and the other had to have support but he walked out. Even seeing both of those men get hurt he still wants to do it. I like watching other people ride bulls but it's pretty nerve wracking even when they get hurt so just think how it would feel if your brother got hurt. Everyone in my family loves Rodeo we're a big horse, bull, mutton, dog, chicken, cattle, etc, kind of family so we're really into that kind of stuff.

   I think we're more horse people then anything, like today we rode horses and worked with our foals and yearlings. The whole family was out by the corral including my soon to be sister in law Kate and we all were just doing what we love to do. We are very big on family unity and doing things as a family and being there for one another. Horses are a way, I think, for us to bond more because when we train horses it takes horsemanship and partnership and you have to understand your partner in order to train the horse. So while your working together your not just training the horse to learn your learning about each other, swapping ideas, and you have to get along with each other, you have to listen to your partners ideas and sometimes you will be wrong and I know its hard to admit when your wrong sometimes (believe me I know) but you just have to. Anyways, this post was supposed to be about the rodeo. I guess I got carried away, anyways again, here are some pics of our day at the rodeo! ENJOY!
